    7-Zip 21.07 was released.

    7-Zip for 64-bit Windows x64:
    https://7-zip.org/a/7z2107-x64.exe

    7-Zip for 32-bit Windows x86:
    https://7-zip.org/a/7z2107.exe

    7-Zip for 64-bit Windows ARM64:
    https://7-zip.org/a/7z2107-arm64.exe

    • 7-Zip now can extract VHDX disk images (Microsoft Hyper-V Virtual Hard Disk v2 format).
    • New switches: -spm and -im!{file_path} to exclude directories from processing for specified paths that don't contain path separator character at the end of path.
    • In the "Add to Archive" window, now it is allowed to use -m prefix for "Parameters" field as in command line: -mparam.
    • The sorting order of files in archives was slightly changed to be more consistent for cases where the name of some directory is the same as the prefix part of the name of another directory or file.
    • TAR archives created by 7-Zip now are more consistent with archives created by GNU TAR program.

Please add Portable version (so that all settings are saved in the installation folder in the "settings.ini" file) in the future. This has been missing for a very long time!!!

Is "Win 11" new right click menu option added in version 21.07?

These Win 11 things are not so simple to support.
            I'll look it later.

There is somebody out there (on SF) who did that with "7Zip" source code as a new app called "NanaZip". I just installed it for test. It works! (I don't use it, I am using 7Zip)
Microsoft Store link (to check it, it's in Beta mode): https://www.microsoft.com/en-us/p/nanazip/9n8g7tscl18r?activetab=pivot:overviewtab

Of course they are easy to support, otherwise the developer of NanaZip would not have been able to integrate NZ into the new Win11 context menu. Also, he said he could help you with the integration of 7zip into the new context menu.

So...How much longer should we wait?

I hope this comment is sarcasm… reading the entitlement in this comment made me angry for a moment.

Easy or not, nobody should ask like this when requesting something to be done.

This should do the trick (quick and dirty):

                Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\directory\Background\shell\MenuItemNameBackground\command]@="C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe \"%1\""[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\directory\shell\MenuItemNamePanel\command]@="C:\Program Files\7-Zip\7zFM.exe \"%1\""

Alternatively, you may want to switch back to ye ole context menu

                Windows Registry Editor Version 5.00[HKEY_CURRENT_USER\Software\Classes\CLSID\{86ca1aa0-34aa-4e8b-a509-50c905bae2a2}\InprocServer32]@=""

Did you fix the "about" box possibly showing offscreen when in multiple monitors? I cannot make it happen any more :-) If so, thank you!

Great to see another (stable) release. I wanted to ask a few things:

                        1. Is there any intention to include the following two patches from Debian - one and two.

                        2. Would you be able to offically support UASM in the Linux Makefile? UASM is a free MASM-compatible assembler based on JWasm - however unlike JWasm it supports AES instructions. The only difference is you need to turn off the automatic stack optimisations by prefixing all ASM files with:

                        OPTION FRAMEPRESERVEFLAGS:ONOPTION PROLOGUE:NONEOPTION EPILOGUE:NONE

At the moment the 2 changes above have been patched in to Debian and other sources but it would be great if they could be merged into 7-zip.

                          Igor Pavlov- 2022-01-10

                          OPTION FRAMEPRESERVEFLAGS:ON
is not supported in masm and asmc.
So please describe full code that is compatible with all assemblers.
also please describe why UASM is not compatible with another masm-style assemblers.
I suppose that masm clones must provide better compatibilty between themselves and to original masm. So why UASM has such incompatibility?
Is there a way to write the code that is more compatible for all masm-style assemblers?

About another Debian patches. Please describe exact reason of each changed line, and why it doesn't work without these changes.

I've created a VHDX yesterday with disk2vhd from sysinternals and I couldn't open it.

I suppose that there is bug in disk2vhd v2.02.
So disk2vhd creates vhdx files that do not follow vhdx standard fully.
But I'll change 7-Zip code too. So next version of 7-Zip must support such vhdx archives created by disk2vhd.

Do you know whats wrong so I can tell them?
As its a tool from MS, I normally wouldn't think they would do it wrong.
